a. Cách dùng:
- Diễn đạt HĐ SV diễn ra thường xuyên, liên tục, lặp đi lặp lại thành thói quen.
- Diễn đạt HĐ như một chân lý một sự thật hiển nhiên.
- Diễn đạt HĐ diễn ra theo lịch trình, thời gian biểu.
b. Dấu hiệu:

- Advs: always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, never.
- in the morning/ afternoon/ evening.
- in + mùa.
- Every + N chỉ thời gian (day/ year/ month/ hour…)
c. Cấu trúc:
(+) I/ You/ We/ They/ N(plural) + V-inf + …
He/ She/ It/ N(singular) + Vs/es + …
(-) I/ You/ We/ They/ N(plural) + don’t + V-inf + …

* Notes:
- Đa số động từ khi chia chỉ thêm –s.
- Động từ tận cùng bởi -s/ -ss/ -ch/ -sh/ -x/ -o/ -z thì khi chia ta thêm –es.
- Riêng: have  has.
- Động từ tận cùng bởi phụ âm + y thì khi chia ta chuyển -y thành -i rồi thêm -es.
d. Pronunciation of s/es:
- k, p , t, f, th + s => /s/
- s, ss, sh, ch, x, z + es; ce, ge, se + s => /iz/

+ Hành động đang xảy ra ở thời điểm nói

+ Diễn tả hàng động mang tính tạm thời

*Notes: Cách thêm “ing”:
- Động từ tận cùng bằng -e ta phải bỏ e rồi thêm -ing vào sau động từ:
write - writing, ride - riding , drive - driving
- Những động từ có một âm nguyên âm duy nhất đứng giữa hai phụ âm ta phải gấp đôi phụ
âm cuối rồi mới thêm ing:
run - running, swim - swimming, get - getting.
- Những 2 âm tiết nhưng trọng âm ở âm tiết 1 ta không nhân đôi mà thêm -ing bình
thường:
visit – visiting;
listen – listening
Nhưng:
Begin – beginning; occur - occurring
- Động từ tận cùng là -c ta thêm -k rồi thêm -ing:
picnic-> picnicking; panic -> panicking; traffic -> trafficking
- Riêng động từ:
lie => lying
