Hi all Friends
My first day at school is a day I will never forget. I went to school for the first time when I

was only seven years old but I can recollect all the happenings on that day. The day before my
school opened, my father asked me to keep my books ready.
The next morning, I woke up very early. Then I bathed and dressed myself neatly.
my father took me to school. In the school I saw a number of new boys and girls waiting in the
corridor. They were all like me in the school for the first time. I was then taken to a classroom. i
For sometime, I found myself helpless, but it did not take much time for me to be friendly ,
with other students. After two periods, they began to tease me, I was much annoyed. During the :
recess time, all my classmates gathered around me. One pulled my shirt while another pulled
my ear. A third boy challenged for a fight. I was frightened and began to cry. My teacher seeing
me crying came to me and asked me why I was crying. When I told him my "story", the teacher!
punished the boys, and from that time onwards they stopped bullying me. We had no lessons
on the first day. But lessons started from the second day. I was really happy to be in sc! 1 on
the first day. It was indeed a memorable day.

Watching television is one of the activities I like to do in my spare time. I enjoy watching
cartoons on Saturday mornings and sports programs on Sunday afternoons. I also watch

television during the week after I have finished all my school work. At night, I especially like
to watch movies and situation comedies. If I have a lot of homework, I try to arrange my
schedule so that I can watch at least one of my favorite shows. Watching television is not the
only activity that I do in my spare time. My other favorite activities are making paper flowers
and going shopping with my friends. However, when I have §.Raretime, I spend more t'
watching television than any other activities. Watching television can help me not only relax
but also build me a huge knowledge of the open world

: 3. How to be happier
i Like other people, J always long to be happy, but I know it very difficult to get it
, because we are living in the modern society. To be happy. what should we do?
First, I think we want to have good health. With good health, we can do everything to serve
ourselves in daily life. Moreover, we can help others such as disabled children, old
people ... from spirit to material.
! Second, we should have a stable and appropriate job. With good job. We are able tc
our family in finance. We help poor and unhappy. People which may take them out of
poverty a little. This make us feel happy.
Third, we should get true friendship to share and help with each other. We are always open
and friendly with everybody. This also help us be happy. Besides, sometimes we should
travel with family or friend to relax after class, we will feel self confident and positive in

In short, the life will become valuable if you feel happy.

4. Describe your best friend and tell why you like him/her
In our daily activities we often get in touch with the others and from these relations we
meet some people whose interests, characteristics and behaviors are similar to ours and
we choose them aSQ1!LJri~ll:g~.
To me, one of my best friends is Nam. Nam is only over eighteen but he is well
developed; so he is thought to be twenty or more. He has black hair, a broad forehead, a
straight nose and bright eyes. He is very good-looking. He has a kind heart and is easy to
get on with everybody. We have been friends for a very long time. The deeper our
mutual understanding becomes the more we feel closely attached to each other. "Birds
of a feather flock together", Nam and I are keen on learning. We are the bestpuj I in
our class. Nam is always at the top. He is good at every subject, but he never shows
pride in his abilities and always tries to learn harder.
Nam's family is not rich enough. His parents are retired workers. Realizing the
hardships of his parents, although he is absorbed in his study, he often spends most of
his §p~r~tim~ doing useful things to help his parents in their old age. He gets up early in
the morning to have enough time to deliver newspapers to subscribers before going to
schooLAft:~r§9hQQJin the afternoon, he repairs bicycles and motorbikes. Therefore the
money he gets from his manual job is sufficient for his school fees and for his parents'
presents. I like Nam very much because of his honesty and straight forwardness.
always ready tQh<::lphi§~<::{lkJl"i<::JlQ§jJ:lJh~iI§J1!QY;
as a result, lots of friends, thanks to
his whole-hearted help, have become good ones.
In my relation with Nam, I have got precious experience: thirst for learning, patience
to QY<::I9Qm<::,Qiffi91!Hi<::~,
helpfulness and filial piety.

others. In addition, with modem environment living, people have chance to approach new life tiep cap

Difference between weekend & weekday activities

Tnfact, many people have trouble when they distinguish weekend and weekdays.
In one hand, weekday mainly refers to the traditional working days of the week which usually

the week (usually Saturday and Sunday) where most workers take a break from their work to

i 13.What do you think of the wheather in Viet Nam

There are 3 regions in Viet Nam: North Vietnam, South Vietnam and middle

Vietnam. The weather is different between each region. In North Vietnam, there are 4 seasons
as summer, winter, spring and autumn but there are only 2 seasons in South and middle
Vietnam. The winter is not too cold so there isn't snow in the winter in Vietnam. However,
summer is very hot. In addition, spring is a special season because there is Tet holiday which is

the biggest and traditional

holiday of the country. The last reason is autumn which is wet and

sky clear. It is believed one of the most beautiful reason in my country.

there are many forms of transport in the cities depending

People can go to many places without wasting

time in driving in crowded street at the peak hours.
In addition, by traveling by underground,

worried to have accident during the journey.

Do you think bicycle is stilI popular in the future? Why? What are the benefits
cycling to work?

In my opinion, in the future, bicycle will be unpopular. Because with development

of society,

time becomes more valuable, people will choose modem kinds of transport to save their time

such as airplane, underground,

cars and train which are convenient

and more faster than bicycle

resulting in saving time to do other works. At this time, bicycle will become out of use.
However, it cannot be denied that cycling to work has many benefits.

Firstly, by cycling you can live longer.dai-er-bi-ti

Give some advantages and disadvantages of travelling by airplane?

As well as being very exciting, airplane travel really can be one of the most efficient
ways to travel around the world. The availability of cheap air travel means that it is now
easy for almost anyone to fly anywhere. We will now look at the advantages and
disadvantages of air travel. The Pros of Travelling by Airplane. Nobody can doubt the
fact that our lives have been changed by air travel.
Below are just a few of the good points relating to air travel.
• It is much faster to travel by plane; it is possible to cross to the other side of the world in
less than a day. It is now possible to easily go to places that would previously been too
far away for most of us to travel to.
• When you are looking for a safe way to travel from one place to another, air travel is
near the top.
• It is now possible to get to destinations all over the world at very affordable prices
because of the availability of cheap flights.
• Airplanes can be quite comfortable and this makes it a nice way to travel.
The Disadvantages of Travelling by Airplane.
There are a number of disadvantages to travelling by plane these days even though it really has
made a big difference to most people's lives.
• Most airports will be situated on the outskirts of the city so once you get off the _': ie
you will still have a bit of a journey before reaching your final destination. And when
you take into consideration, the fact that you have to wait around in the airport before
taking off, plane travel can sometimes end up taking you just as long as other types of
travel, particularly internal flights.
• There are a lot of people who feel that the hassle involved with security checks on
airplanes can be quite troublesome.- You do not have nearly the same room for
movement on a plane as you do on a train.
• Some economy sections of certain planes are quite crammed and there is very little
17. Which seasons do you like best in a year? Which activities can you take part in the
I like autumn best because of the following reasons:
During autumn, which lasts more or less from late July to early October, it is sunny most of the
time. The Autumnal sun is often splendid, dying nature yellow. The weather is also ideal
because it is not too cold or too hot. Then the coldish northwesterly wind, which blows gently,
thrills everyone with the breath of autumn. The leaves of the trees turning yellow or red put a
gorgeous coat of colors on nature. Autumn is such a wonderful season that many poem- 1'1d
songs have been composed to sing the praises of the season. Autumn is also a season wn.ch
reminds me of my first day at school, when my mother took me by the hand and led me to
school for the first time. Last but not least, autumn is the time when I can enjoy my favorite

fruit and dish which are the Japanese persimmons and the green rice flakes. These are found
only in autumn. In this season, you can take part in many activities like playing sports, go
camping or traveling with your friends and family. It's believed that, in autumn, the weather is
very comfortable and relevant with journeys. You can play many kinds of sports such as
swimming, football, climbing to cultivate your health and make your life healthier.
18. More should be done to protect the natural features, such as lakes and rivers, oj . =:
world. How far do you agree with statement?
Conservation concerns men 's s_a.t~glJand his
responsibility for improving the environmental conditions in which he lives. An important task
of conservation is the prevention of waste - waste of fQI~.?ts,soil, minerals, wildlife and human
Trees help to preserve land because their roots bind the soil and retainwater. Without trees,
heavy rains will cause soil erosion and the remaining land becomes poor and worthless.
Terrible floods often occur in the areas where trees are cut down in great quantity. Fort
conservation also means the prevention of bush fires and the attention to planting and looking
after new, young trees.
Not only should man preserve forests but he should also realize the importance of wildlife
protection. Unless governments have a good system of control or pass laws restricting the
hunting, fishing and eradicating of rare animals and plants, they slowly disappear.
Natural resources such as coal, gas and mineral ores are limited but the need for them is
growing day by day. As they may not last for a century, man should use them widely 0
one hand, and look for alternative fuels on the other hand.
Another serious problem threatening human life is the dirtying and poisoning of air and water.
This pollution is mainly caused by the fumes, chemicals and wastes from automobiles,
industries and homes.
It is hoped that for his own benefit, man can soon find a solution to these problems.
20. How would you compare your living standards to those of your grandparents?

When I was a child, my grandparents had gone to the heaven. I don't rememlre- much
about them and their living standards. At that time, more than 60 years ago, so I can guess how
did they live.
About 60 years ago, my grandparents was living with a war, they had to fight to live.
They did not care about money, just focused to Independence and Freedom.
They loved our country more than themselves, they could die for big ideal for Independence,
for Freedom.

Now almost people in my generation, just think of themselves, and live without ideal.
About 60 years ago most of them used to go on foot or by bicycle to visit their hiends,
now I use my motor-bike or car. They also didn't know about mobile phone, now we can talk
with our friend anywhere by mobile phone.
At their time, they used to listen to Vietnamese music with a old radio, they may did not know
how crazy fan is?
Now I usually listen to music by my laptop via Internet connection with any kind of music on
the world.
There was no Internet connection in their life time, they didn't know how to connect with
people all over the world.
Now we have a big social network and it is very interesting.
There are too much different things!! !
