INTRODUCTION
English for hospitality is an interresting and useful subject for our life. When we study this
subject, we will have a good chance to get knowledge about hotels and restaurants. Every
restaurants or hotels have their own facilities, services, methods of payment, qualities. This

subject will teach you how to solve arising problems, communicate with guests, manage your
hotel or restaurant. In Vietnam nowadays, hospitality is more and more developing, so that this
subject is very necessary.
Nowadays, many kinds of methods of payment appear to make our life more convenient. If in
the past, we had only one way to pay is by cash.There are a lot of ways to pay such as credit
card, cheque, transfer… Everything in the world have two sides: advantages and
disadvandtages, so does methods of payment. Choosing suitable methods of payment will help
us more convenient. Our group’s topic is about methods of payment. In this report, we will
make a clearly survey about all issues about methods of payment.

methods of payment commonly used in the hospitality
1) Cash :
1.1 Definition:Cash is legal tender or coins that can be used to exchange goods, debt or
services. Sometimes it also includes the value of assets that can be converted into cash
immediately, as reported by a company.

2.1 Definition: Standard-size plastic token, with a magnetic stripe that holds a machine readable

are pre-set according to the individual's credit rating.

Chapter 3: Methods of payment commonly used in the Vietnam.
Social in Vietnam nowadays is more and more developing, so that, to pay for anything, there
are a lot of ways to pay. In our opinion, the most popular methods of payment in Vietnam are
cash and credit card. Pay by cash is convenient for you to go anywhere. It’s very easy to
perform a transaction. By cash, you don’t have to wait for a long time, and all levels of society
can use it. In recent years, our economic is developing, our people is possible to buy a lot of
luxury products. The amount of money is very big, it’s very dangerous and inconvenient to
bring a lot of money. There are a lot of risks may occurr if you take many money. In order that,
there is an apperance of credit card. Using credit card is very convenient, you can settle a bill a
big amount of money easily.
Chapter 4: The information we should notice when guests ask us to settle the bill.
Settle the bill is one of important problem. It is connection with individual benefit, so some
information we should notice when guests ask us to settle the bill. If we are in the hotel, we
should notice:

The arrival date and length of stay
The room price, services fee (complete with any levies, duties,taxes)
The amount of the advance deposit that you will charge to the credit card (this
may not exceed the price for 14 nights)

The name, address and phone number of the Hotel and guests.

If we are in the restaurant, we should notice:
- Name of restaurant
- Address of restaurant
- Telephone Number of restaurant
- Bill date and time
- Ordered paper
- Item, mount of dish , rate, value
- VAT and total
Chapter 5: Real situation
A tourism interview
Mr.Khang :Would you mind tell me what are the methods pf payment in tourism?
Mrs.Dong Anh: In my opinion, there are about seven methods, let me see, they are : check,
cash, credit card, bank transfer, debit card, online payment services, money orders.
Mr.Khang: Can you tell me which methods that domestic guests usually use ?
Mrs.Dong Anh: Domestic guests often pay by cash it them book directly at my company. They
will pay credit card if they book online in the internet.

Mr.Khang: How about foreign guests?

Mrs.Dong Anh: Foreign guests prefer pay credit too. They just only pay by cash if there is any
arising problems. But if the problem is bigger, they aslo use credit card.
Mr.Khang: In your opinion, which methods is convenient for the tourisms?
Mrs.Dong Anh: My company prefer credit card because it will be convenient for both guest
and my company.
Mr.Khang: How can the guest receive a bill when they book a tour?
Mrs.Dong Anh: If the guest book online, we will send them a bill by e-mail or g-mail. If they
book directly, we will give them a bill at the time they booked.
A hotel interview
Mr.Khang: Could you please tell me how many methods of payment there are in the world ?
And what are they?
Mrs.Sen: The main methods of payment are : cash and credit card. In Vietnam, they can pay
buy VND, USD, AUD, EUR. By credit card: they can ADS,Visa, Master card, JBC, Dinner ,
and Union Pay.
Mr.Khang: Which methods are your hotel using?
Mrs.Sen: Our hotel usually apply cash and credit card. We accept only 2 currencies: VND and
USD.
Mr.Khang: Can you tell me which methods that guests usually use?

Mrs.Sen: Our guests often pay by VND, Visa and Master card.
Mr.Khang: Would you mind tell me what methods are more convenient for your hotel?
Mrs.Sen: I think the most convenient methods is cash.
Mr.Khang: The last question, can you tell me what information your hotel will notice when
settling a bill?
Mrs.Sen: We have to confirm with the guests the nam of the guests, the room number, the total
amount.

CONCLUSION
Finishing the report, I have earned a lot of knowledge for my own. I have known that there are
many methods of payment in the world as well as in Vietnam. At each field, people use suitable
methods. In the process of working in reality, I met some people who work in hotels,
restaurants and tourism. I have learned a lot of useful things. Besides that, I realized that I have
grown up a lot, I solve problem more steadily and moreover I can improve my patience.
To complete this project, Ms. Linh has helped us step by step, from the outlines to how to
communicate, solve arising problems when make an interview. For my group generally and for
me particularly is very thankful to Ms. Linh. Thanks to Ms. Linh, English for Hospitality
subject has brought us many interesting things as well as valuable knowledge. I have to say
that, our teammates in group Happy always stay side by side, share and encourage each other
when we were denied while make an interview.
Finally, I want to say: ‘Thank you!’ to Ms. Linh- our teacher and my teammates to help me
complete this report and learn anything in my life.
