Suzanne lives in Bangkok with her husband and two children. Her office is 7 km away
but it takes her two hours to get there by car everyday.
" Some cities has problems with pollution, crime, or bad weather - here we have traffic
jams, " she says. Before going to the office, she has to take her children to school - so
he sets off at 5 a.m. The children sleep until they arrive at school. Then Suzanne begins
her journey to the office.
In the evening the traffic is even worse. Traffic moves in the city center at half a
kilometer an hour. In rainy weather it doesn't move at all.
But why it is so bad? In the past, more people moved around Bangkok by boat. Now so
many people have a car, and there aren't enough roads in the city. The Skytrain and
metro can help a bit, but they are limited in rang and don't cover all parts of the city.

Bill Gates is the co-founder of Miscrosoft, the world’s largest PC software company.
He is among the richest people in the world. Bill Gates’ interest in computer started
when he was a teenager. After high school, he was accepted to several top colleges in
the USA: Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. He chose to go to study law. At Harvard, he
focused more on his interest in computer than on coursework. He left Harvard before
graduating because he wanted to open a software company with his friend Paul Allen.
In 2007, he received an honorary degree from Harvard. Bill Gates is no longer working
full time for Microsoft. He is now, with his wife, running The Bill& Melinda Gates
Foundation which aims to improve healthcare, reduce poverty, and promote education
around the world.
