UNIT 8: NEW WAY TO LEARN
A – READING
I. Aims and objectives
By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
- develop reading skills: guessing meaning in context, scanning for specific
information and make references when reading a text.
- list some new helpful applications.
- apply using some modern devices for their learning.

I. Warm – up (3 mins)
- Show pictures of some modern applications
and ask sts their names.

- Ask sts some other questions:
+ How often do you use each application?
+ What is it used for?
- Introduce the lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Pre-reading (10 mins)
Activity 1:
- Let sts work in pairs, look at the pictures and
answer the questions:
1. What are student doing?

2. What do you think you are going to read
about?

Activity 2:
- Have students work in group of 5. Teacher
shows each question on the screen and sts have
15 seconds to look at the question and give the

-Ask sts to work in group of 5. Each member

Activity 4: Game: Lucky number
- Teacher devides class into 2 groups.
- Involve the game.
- Teacher show 6 numbers: 1,2,3,4,5,6 on the
screen. 5 numbers consist of 5 questions and
the other is a lucky number. Each group takes
turn to choose a number and have 30 seconds to
answer the question . If they give the correct
answer, they get 1 point. The team choose the
lucky number will get 1 point without
answering the question. The team getting the
higher score will be the winner.
